2. for the world

I’m already in Texas. What the fuck.

Cindy texted me from the room asking, “Is that you typing?” I replied, “No?” At our Arkansas stop there was a wind chime in the bathroom and when I heard her playing it I yelled, “Do you hear that?” and she replied, “No?” I was very confused until she started laughing. I have moved from her friend’s desktop to her laptop anyways.

We are in Texas visiting Melissa, who is very nice and very stoned. It’s 12:12 a.m. Today we completed our third leg of Jenni Independence Week and went from Arkansas to Texas. I had a great iced vanilla latte this morning to make up for the saddest coffee at the aquarium the day before, what-a-shitty-burger for lunch, and probably Texan BBQ for dinner.

So much has already happened and yet nothing at the same time. Just a few days ago I was in North Carolina packing and now I’m in the middle of America, a day after the fourth of July, trying to write something that will help my life make sense. It’s exciting and scary and – most importantly – fun.

Monday was spent getting to Atlanta, where we ate dinner my mom bought us and tried to sleep in a humid teepee, and Tuesday was spent at the Georgia Aquarium. The fish were cool, but the dolphin show made me cry. We sped through the south like nobody’s business – with a quick pitstop at Elvis Presley’s birthplace for no reason. It was unsurprisingly small.

Today we walked in the rain, did a 20-minute soak at a tourist trap of a bathhouse, walked in the rain some more, drove to Dallas, and hung out with Mel.

HOW?

This is my life now. More tomorrow.
